Children are the most precious gifts of God to their parents and society. But some children are not as privileged as others. It is the responsibility of the society to look after such kids.
Keeping the above in mind and in order to make the children sensitive towards such under-privileged and to encourage the values of charity, the students of St. Montfort School visited Nirmal Shishu Bhawan situated at Nehru Nagar, an institute run by the Missionaries of Charity for the children who are orphans, disabled or mentally retarded.
Under the able guidance of the Principal Rev Bro Alex, the students and staff were encouraged to donate generously. The students of classes 3rd to 9th collected a large quantity of grocery items and toiletries for this noble cause. It was a heart touching sight to see young children suffering with such disabilities and it made the students realize how blessed and privileged they were.
Sr. Agatha Paul, the In-charge, took the students around the institute which consisted provisionsfor meditation, physiotherapyetc. for the physically challenged children. The students handed over the items to the authorities who very politely accepted them. It was a life changing experience for all.
