Ganit week, full of events was celebrated enthusiastically in our school. It was an event which challenges our Mathematical and mental skills and refines to make us the best of Mathematician.
One of the endlessly alluring aspects of Mathematics is that its thorniest paradoxes have a way of blooming into beautiful theories. And, hence keeping this in mind. Our celebration featured quiz, origami making, poster making etc.
AIMS-
- To increase and develop students knowledge and mathematical skills.
- Promote learning and teaching process.
- To develop students awareness on importance of Maths and its co-curricular links.
- Promote a broader perspective on the nature of mathematical activity including that mathematical activity in everyday life.

LECTURE-
On 16th Dec. 2014, Lecture on 20th Dec. 2014,- Screening of film by VigyanPrasar. One Hour Lecture was shown to the students of Class VI. This lecture featured the use of Mathematics and the logics in Mathematics. Title of the lecture was Queen of Mathematics. It included Theorems, Co-relation of positive and negative through integars, use of Prime numbers, spiral picturisation of prime numbers etc.
On 17th Dec.2014, Essay writing Competition was held for Class VII. Topic was The eminent Mathematician, Ramanujanâ€
On 18th Dec,2014Maths Quiz was held for Class VIII. Three students were selected from each section. There were 3 rounds, in first two rounds there were 3 question in each and in third round which was rapid fire round there were 5 questions for each team. Topics included were Algebric expression, Mensuration, rational numbers, linear equations and general Mathematics.
According to the judges winners were as follows-
VIII A-I
VIII B- II
VIII C- III
Students participated enthusiastically, audience response was very good.
On 22nd Dec. 2014, Beauty of Mathematics is incomplete without origami.
Yes, so to give complete shape to mathematics, this activity was conducted for class IX.
Origami – The art of Paper folding has received a considerable amount of mathematical study. Students prepared many models.
On 22nd Dec.2014, An expert problem solves must be endowed with two incompatible qualities, a restless imagination and a patience pertinacity.
Keeping this in mind a poster making competition was organized on 22nd Dec.2014, in the campus for tenth class students.
So, GANIT week was a week which invaded the theory of understanding, so that children would treat nature by the various mathematical figures like sphere, cylinder and the cone.
To commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Shri. SrinivasaRamanujam, our school is celebrating GANIT ( groeing aptitude in numerical innovations & Training ) week from 16th Dec. to 22nd Dec. 2014.
