Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with full enthusiasm and zeal at St.Montfort
School on 17th August 2016. Class-XII-B presented the morning assembly on
Raksha bandhan Celebration by unfolding the story behind Raksha Bandhan . They
depicted the story of Rani Karmavati and Emperor Humayun. The story
revealed the true essence of the festival of Raksha Bandhan. But in today’s
scenario how it has been modernized was also revealed through a small skit.
The thought of the day was Raksha Bandhan is not a festival which is to
be celebrated only on a single day of the year rather it’s about a pledge the
brother and sister take to protect and ensure happiness to each other .
The entire school experienced nostalgic moments when they saw the enthusiastic
performance put up by the students. All in all, the celebration of this
festival which signifies the beautiful family bond of trust and protection
between a boy and a girl, helped the students to nurture a healthy relationship
amongst all at school – which is indeed a home away from home.
Rev Br. Alex principal at St.Montfort school gave his warm wishes for the
festival.
