 Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with sheer enthusiasm at   St.Montfort Sr.Sec School, Bhopal in the morning assembly on 24 August 2016 . The order of the programme commenced with a  heartwarming skit performance which was presented by the students of class –XI showing us the birth  of Lord Krishna followed by  a traditional  dance to show the happiness and the celebration by the girls of Class XI on  Ã¢â‚¬Ëœwoh kisna hai’ . Another soul-touching enactment on the various krishna Leela was presented.

The event  based on the legend of the child-god Krishna stealing butter which is  mostly popular in the state of Maharashtra ,known as Matki-Phod or Dahi-Handi where in  human pyramid is formed to break  an earthen pot filled with curd tied at a convenient/difficult height by all the govindas. The breaking of the 3 earthen   pot was symbolically shown to depict the three evils present amidst human race .The first  pot represented the end of egoistic mindset , The second pot represented the evil against the girl child and the third pot represented the  destruction of corruption .The morning assembly was concluded by bringing out  the message of universal brotherhood and the end of all evil existing in the society and  a vision of a corruption free world. Rev. Bro. Alex in his addressable gave the message of spreading peace and harmony.
